LOGOS and Miss America

What do LOGOS and Miss America have in common? It is not just that we are both bright and beautiful! No, it is more than this. The current Miss America, Lauren Nelson, also grew up in a LOGOS program at Centenary United Methodist Church in Lawton, OK where she remains a member. In an article in the United Methodist Reporter, she talks of the importance of her church family, her relationship with God, and growing up in LOGOS. Read all about it in this online version.

Ha, that’s great! It is nice to hear that she has such strong ties to her community, too.

How refreshing & hopeful to hear a Lauren’s viewpoints about gifts and responsibility to answer God’s call to use them to help others. It sounds like Lauren is surrounded by a body of Christ that loves & supports her - and has helped guide her to make good decisions. The world of a 20 year old is full of temptations & tough tests of character - and a close connection thru many adult relationships & role models is an impressive asset!

    Wow, that’s great!
